- MOEX will launch crypto perpetual futures for Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, and Tron on September 22, 2026.
- The one-day contracts will roll automatically and settle in Russian rubles without any crypto delivery.
- Trading will be limited to qualified investors as MOEX expands its existing crypto futures lineup now.
The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) of Russia is set to extend its crypto market by introducing new crypto futures contracts to enable investors to access the crypto market through other means. This development comes as an effort by the Russian stock exchange to offer crypto-based financial instruments.
The new contracts are designed differently from the perpetual futures commonly offered by offshore crypto platforms. They will use a one-day structure that rolls over automatically, while traders will settle gains and losses in Russian rubles instead of receiving the underlying cryptocurrencies.
How MOEX crypto perpetual futures will work
The new crypto perpetual futures to be introduced by MOEX will be for five different crypto assets, which will be included in the current MOEX products. These crypto assets are Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP and Tron. Contracts will be created for each of the assets listed above.

While the new crypto perpetual futures contracts will be priced in US dollars, they will settle in Russian rubles. In effect, the product gives exposure to crypto prices quoted in US dollars without owning Bitcoin or Ether.
MOEX is also using a one-day futures structure with automatic rollover. The arrangement distinguishes the products from the perpetual futures commonly associated with offshore cryptocurrency exchanges, where contracts do not have a conventional expiry date.
Trading will remain limited to qualified investors. The exchange said more than 72,000 qualified investors have already traded its digital-asset futures, while cumulative transaction volume has surpassed 600 billion rubles.
The figures cover MOEX’s digital-asset futures activity rather than only the new perpetual contracts, which have not yet launched as of the September 16 notice.
Existing crypto futures provide the foundation.
MOEX already has monthly futures linked to the same five crypto indexes. Bitcoin and Ether futures began trading in November 2025, establishing the exchange’s initial offerings tied to the two assets.
The exchange subsequently expanded its crypto futures lineup. Contracts linked to Solana, XRP and Tron were introduced on May 14, 2026.
The September launch therefore adds a different contract structure to an existing group of crypto-related derivatives. Rather than replacing the monthly futures, the new products use one-day contracts with automatic rollover.
MOEX’s latest notice reviewed for the launch is dated September 16. That notice sets September 22 as the planned start date for the new products.
The exchange’s reported trading figures also provide context for its existing digital-asset futures activity. More than 72,000 qualified investors have traded these products, according to MOEX, and their cumulative transaction volume has exceeded 600 billion rubles.
Russia’s crypto framework and the new products
The planned launch comes after Russia’s broader regulated cryptocurrency framework took effect on September 1, 2026. However, the new MOEX futures remain a separate derivatives product and continue to be restricted to qualified investors.
The distinction is important because the regulatory framework and the exchange’s futures products are not the same offering. MOEX’s September 22 launch concerns financial contracts linked to crypto indexes, with cash settlement in rubles rather than delivery of the underlying assets.
For investors who meet the exchange’s qualification requirements, the new contracts will cover the same five crypto assets already represented in its monthly futures lineup: Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, and Tron.
MOEX has not indicated in the supplied launch material that the September 22 date has changed. The September 16 notice remains the latest exchange information provided for the planned introduction.
What the MOEX launch means for its futures lineup
The September 22 rollout will expand MOEX’s crypto derivatives offering by adding automatically rolled one-day contracts alongside its existing monthly futures.
The products will combine U.S.-dollar quotations with Russian-ruble financial settlement, while no underlying cryptocurrency will be delivered. Access will also remain restricted to qualified investors.
With Bitcoin and Ether futures already available since November 2025 and Solana, XRP and Tron contracts added in May 2026, the new MOEX crypto perpetual futures represent an additional contract format for the same five crypto-linked indexes.
