What Are Crypto ETFs? 10 Major Funds Explained

Crypto ETFs have seen a lot of growth in the US market in 2026, not only in terms of spot BTC and ETH ETFs but also by including ETFs for Solana and XRP. The table below presents an updated list of funds, with information through August 20.

By number of assets under management, the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF from BlackRock remains the largest product in the market, followed by funds from Fidelity, Grayscale, ARK 21Shares, and Bitwise.

Crypto ETFs have moved beyond Bitcoin

The crypto ETFs space in the United States has transformed since the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the first spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products in January 2024. Today’s ETF universe includes spot exposure to multiple crypto assets and diversified indices.

While some ETFs contain the underlying crypto asset, other ETFs trade using futures or derivatives. Others offer a combination of digital assets and staking.

The key distinctions include:

  • Exposure to a single asset: Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, or XRP
  • Diversified exposure via a basket of crypto assets
  • Staking with asset exposure
