XRP Price Rallies Toward $1.25

XRP Price Rallies Toward $1.25 as Momentum and Derivatives Activity Increase

  • XRP price was trading at $1.25 amid a 449.75% rise in volume and short liquidations.
  • XRP price moved above $1.08 amid an RSI reading of 90.66 and short liquidations.
  • The rise in XRP price saw an increase in open interest as the CEO of Ripple attended a White House meeting on cryptocurrency.

XRP price activity has accelerated sharply after weeks of trading around the $1 level, with the token breaking through several resistance areas and moving toward $1.25.

XRP rose 18.76% to $1.22, while another four-hour chart showed the token trading near $1.24 before reaching $1.25094, representing a 5.08% increase in that period.

Trading volume also increased 449.75%, while the breakout followed sustained accumulation around the 1.00-1.10 range.

XRP Price Scales Resistance Areas

The current price action of XRP was preceded by an extended consolidation period at around $1.00 and $1.10. The coin then breached above $1.10 and $1.20 and went up to test $1.24.

In the four-hour chart, XRP surged to $1.25094 following a break above the $1.08 Fibonacci extension area. The $1.0826 mark is the 4.236 Fibonacci extension and $1.0445 is the 2.618. The chart also identifies $1.1866 as a level near the upper Bollinger Band.

The move above $1.25 places that area at the immediate resistance level shown on the chart. If selling pressure develops, $1.1866 is identified as an initial support area, followed by $1.0826 and $1.0445.

Technical Indicators Show Strong Momentum

XRP’s four-hour technical structure changed significantly during the breakout. The token moved above its 20, 50, 100 and 200 exponential moving averages. The 20 EMA stood at $1.0695, while the 50 EMA was $1.0377. The 100 EMA was $1.0549 and the 200 EMA was $1.0373.

The positioning placed the XRP price above all four averages following the move from the 1.00-1.10 consolidation zone. The same four-hour analysis recorded an RSI reading of 90.66.

The RSI level was in extremely overbought territory at the time of the analysis. The chart also showed XRP trading above the upper Bollinger Band, which was positioned at $1.18664. The combination of the elevated RSI and the price moving beyond the upper band accompanied the sharp acceleration in the token’s price.

XRP Price Rally Coincides With White House Crypto Summit

The rally also occurred after Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse attended a White House crypto summit hosted by President Donald Trump. XRP climbed nearly 15% to about $1.21 after the event, while the token moved above resistance near $1.081 following weeks of trading close to $1.

Trump publicly acknowledged Garlinghouse during the meeting. The gathering included SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

The event also marked the launch of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee, a 35-member group focused on digital-asset policy discussions. Ripple’s participation followed years of legal proceedings involving the company and the SEC. The summit itself did not change XRP’s legal status or establish new rules.

Derivatives Data Shows Heavy Short Liquidations

XRP derivatives markets recorded elevated bullish positioning during the price increase. Binance XRP/USDT showed a long/short ratio of 2.6873 based on accounts, while the top trader long/short ratio based on accounts reached 2.864. Another Binance measure based on top trader positions stood at 1.6706. OKX recorded a long/short ratio of 2.03.

Liquidations increased alongside the price advance. Over 24 hours, XRP liquidations totaled $31.78 million, including $26.12 million in short positions and $5.66 million in long positions.

During the previous 12 hours, liquidations reached $15.92 million, with $13.52 million involving shorts and $2.40 million involving longs. The four-hour figures showed $10.92 million in liquidations, consisting of $9.10 million in shorts and $1.82 million in longs.

Open Interest Remains Elevated

XRP open interest has remained elevated compared with earlier periods despite the token’s previous decline from higher price levels. The latest chart showed open interest stabilizing around $2.5 billion to $2.8 billion while XRP moved higher.
