Ethereum Foundation Adds Security Researcher to Board

The Ethereum Foundation appointed Pascal Caversaccio, known as “pcaversaccio,” to its board for an initial one-year voluntary term.

Caversaccio is a co-founder and lead of the crypto security response group SEAL 911. He joins Foundation President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, and Swiss counsel Patrick Storchenegger on the four-member board.

The Foundation said Caversaccio is also a member of the Silviculture Society, an advisory group focused on censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security. He authored The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto in 2024 and Ethereum Privacy: The Road to Self-Sovereignty in 2025.

According to the Foundation, the board oversees its long-term vision and ensures management decisions remain aligned with its mission as a Swiss foundation.

The appointment follows the organization’s June statement describing privacy and security as “non-negotiable protocol guarantees.” The Foundation also said its protocol team would continue translating research on layer-1 privacy and post-quantum security into protocol upgrades.
